Man of Steel Review (possible spoilers)

15 06 2013

Back in 1978 Richard Donner and Christopher Reeves  made a movie called Superman. And the tag line on the poster it read “You’ll Believe a Man can Fly”. For this film and the sequel Superman II did exactly that. Since then for 25 years since the movie debuted 4 more attempts were made all in failure. Now we have Zack Snyder, Henry Cavill, Hans Zimmer, and Christopher Nolan are doing just that. After the jump is my review for Man of Steel.

The Kings of Summer: An Unexpected Surprise

24 05 2013

It’s rare when a film outside of the mainstream releases gets a review or mention on this site but THIS is a rare opportunity. During the week I was given a wonderful chance (thanks to a friend) to see an advanced screening of The Kings of Summer, a film that received much praise at the 2013 Sundance Film Festival and for good reason.

The First Trailer for Thor The Dark World Has Been Unleashed

23 04 2013

With the release of Marvel’s first film of 2013 just under two weeks away it seems to be the right time for the studio to give you the first look at their second film, Thor The Dark World. Right off the bat you can see that under the helm of new director Alan Taylor (Whose most recent credit goes to directing Game of Thrones for HBO) that the film looks a bit grittier and embraces set pieces that are more reminiscent of Taylor’s work on Thrones. I am really impressed and if further trailers look as strong as this debut it may surpass Iron Man levels of excitement. Hit the jump for the trailer.

The Wolverine Debuts Its First Trailer

27 03 2013

the_wolverine-HD

The Wolverine, probably one of the least talked about and least anticipated comic book film this year due to the disappointment of X-Men Origins: Wolverine. The film was extremely campy, over the top, and upset fans with the treatment of some of their favorite characters like Gambit and Deadpool. The Wolverine is looking to correct all of that with a tale that looks to be more gritty, more serious, and above all else, more brutal. You can tell from the trailer that this is a completely different film not looking to associate with the previous spin-off title. Hit the jump for the trailer and see for yourself.

J.J. Abrams to direct STAR WARS

24 01 2013

abrams

That’s right this guy in the photo above is now going to direct the other Star franchise. He already has Star Trek: Into Darkness coming out this year on May 18. But now after Lucas Films new president Kathleen Kennedy courted Abrams for about 2 months finally landed him. This is also after he stated last month he had  no interest in directing Star Wars.

Movie site The Wrap also said Ben Affleck was in the mix to direct the film but now it is a moot point. As far as Abrams relationship with Paramount going forward will be interesting since he has been with them since he directed Mission Impossible III.

The one note of caution here is the recent story about Zack Snyder directing a separate, stand-alone Star Wars film, which was first reported by the Vulture only for Snyder’s reps to say it wasn’t true, even as Vulture stood by their sources. Lucas Films is obviously being secretive with the Star Wars films as negotiations have been going on with directors, so we’ll all be waiting to see when they officially comment on this report that Abrams is the guy making The Movie We’re All Waiting For.

“Red 2″ Trailer

18 01 2013

So “Red” which was a comic books about Paul Moses(Bruce Willis) a retired CIA agent is gets attacked by a CIA hit squad and goes out to find out who put the hit on him. So he gathers up old acquaintances Joe Matheson(Morgan Freeman) Victoria(Helen Mirran) and LSD fed lovable nut bag Marvin Boggs(John Malkavich) and he also picks up Sarah Ross(Mary Louise-Parker) whom he has been phone stalking for a long time. Red 2 appears to be much of the same with the exception of the CIA being Britain’s MI6. And What looks like to me exchanging Morgan Freeman for Tony Hopkins. So let the awesome/hilarious moments commence.

That’s It, Game Over, This is Hands Down The Most Awesome Movie Coming in 2013

13 12 2012

Iron Man 3? Psh

Man of Steel? Fly the hell on outta here

Any movie starring Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson? Rock Bottom’d

This, Pacific Rim, is by far the most anticipated movie (for me) in 2013. It takes everything I loved watching as a kid and throws it together in one futuristic, apocalyptic battle royal that should satisfy any and all. Check out the trailer!

See The Latest Man of Steel Trailer

11 12 2012

Warner Bros has released the latest trailer for 2013′s Man of Steel directed by Zack Snyder. The initial trailer didn’t really show much but this new one greatly increases the impressiveness of the film. The cinematography alone looks gorgeous and if this film is a hit it will completely redeem Snyder and take DC films to a new level. Here’s hoping, enjoy the trailer!

Angry Video Game Nerd: The Movie Gets a Trailer

12 11 2012

I have been a longtime fan of “The Nerd” ever since he started exclusively as the Angry Nintendo Nerd. His videos are vulgar, hilariously cheesy, and over the years have become very creative and shockingly informative about the games he abuses. Now he sets out on his biggest endeavor yet with a full feature length film. The trailer has recently hit YouTube and the team behind the project (The Nerd included) hope to have it out and available for purchase in 2013. Best of luck James, I really hope to see the finished project next year.

Hit the jump for the trailer
